Gone But Never Forgotten Friends

Immortalize Your Companion

Bubba Louie

Adorable dog in Christmas hat with plush toys on yellow blanket.
Bubba Louie was a very special French Bulldog with very big ears and a short stubby tail that wagged very, very fast. He lived to be 11 years old. His motto was “Joy, kindness and friendship is the Bubba way.” Bubba felt that every day was the best day of his life so far. He had thousands of friends on Facebook, many of whom he met in person. His two favorite places in the world were the dog beach on the ocean in California and the cancer hospice for people in Minnesota where he volunteered as a therapy dog. Bubba was also an author. With his dad’s help, he wrote four books that starred him and his real life four legged friends. Each book told a story about Bubba and his friends having fun and coming to the aid of those in need. Bubba’s books are very much the story of his life. Since going to the Rainbow Bridge, Bubba’s favorite things are watching over his family and friends and doing zoomies on the heavenly dog beach where the sun always shines and the warm sand is just right for running super fast.
“Bubba Heard a Mouse Calling for Help” and Bubba’s other books are available on Amazon.

Ace

6/30/2010 – 7/23/2022
Ace the Amazing Bat-Hound was born in 2010. An itchy boy, he had every Frenchie allergy under the sun, but that didn’t stop him from loving the beach, chasing tennis balls for hours, and, his favorite pastime, fighting crime. His parents liked to think the loud snores they heard at night were just a distraction as he crept out of the house to strike fear into the hearts of villains everywhere.
Ace loved Fruitables, apples, and blueberries… he also loved sleeping on his back, playing Bitey Face, and making sure his sister was always clean. Most of all, he loved running up and down the beach with his sister and his BFF, Bubba Louie.

Cherie

Adorable French Bulldog wearing a colorful flower lei on the sandy beach.
9/20/2011 – 9/22/2025
Cherie the Surf Dog was born “Sarah” deep in the heart of Texas in 2011. After her initial owners decided that they did not have the time for her, she was surrendered to French Bulldog Rescue Network and taken to San Diego to be fostered until she found her forever home.
She found her forever home in March 2012, quickly took to life with her brother Ace, and immediately fell in love with the beach. During her first trip to the beach, she immediately charged into the water to play with the big dogs and never stopped swimming for 14 years.
She learned how to surf in Del Mar, CA, began competing in surf competitions, and dedicated her life to raising money for animals in need, raising tens of thousands of dollars for organizations like French Bulldog Rescue Network, Helen Woodward Animal Center, and more.
Cherie’s surfing took her and her family on so many adventures. She’s won championships, trophies, and medals. She’s been on TV a ton of times. She even took her family to Hawaii to surf the waves of Baby Queens in Waikiki.
She is proof that anyone can achieve great things, regardless of your size.
Surf’s Up, Cherie

Vivienne

French Bulldog enjoying the beach with Snort Pack gear.
February 14, 2018 – July 25, 2025
Our beloved Vivienne — my beefy chalupa supreme, my bad bip, my BBN — filled every day with laughter, love, and a thousand silly moments that made life brighter. From your smooshy cheeks and Dorito ears to your perfect “boof” for attention, you were endlessly unique.
You rode shotgun with your chin on my shoulder, hunted your treats like prey, and claimed every cozy corner as your own. You were the best mommy, the funniest little hippo, and my sweetest snuggle buddy — always ready with a “bip kiss” (when you decided we were worthy).
You loved warm sunspots, car rides to country music, and shredding boxes like it was your job. You brought joy to everyone you met, even those who swore they “weren’t dog people.”
Vivienne Gilbert, Gilbertitos, Vippo, Belinda Josefina — so many names for one unforgettable soul. You were my constant, my warmth, my home. Though your body has gone, your love lives on in Malibu, in every Frenchie wiggle, and in every memory that still makes me smile.
Forever my girl. Forever my Bip.
